Wires Glasses launches a new line of 3D eyewear 3D printing has had a significant impact on the eyewear industry, allowing manufacturers to create custom frames and even allow customers to 3D print their own. Several 3D printed eyewear manufacturers have emerged with innovative products, but so far no innovative company like Wires Glasses has been able to launch a new eyewear line today.

The company was founded last year by London-based designer Yair Neuman under the creative direction of Lily Cole and is in the process of securing seed funding from True Ventures. The frame of each pair of wire glasses is formed from extruded wire, which can be paired with any of seven different 3D printed lens edge designs in a variety of shapes and colors. Interchangeable rims allow the wearer to change their look at any time without having to purchase a new pairing.

The minimalist design not only looks cool, but also reduces waste through the use of 3D printing, exemplifying Co-Founders Cole and entrepreneur Quame Ferreira's dedication to sustainability. Often, spectacle frames and bezels are cut from large pieces of material, resulting in a lot of waste.

The first series, Wires 1.0, was handcrafted in 2017 by a team of experts in Zimbabwe. Wires 2.0 was released today and is now handmade by an Italian family business. Another aspect that makes Wires Glasses unique is its novel invisible hinge mechanism, which allows the frame to fold due to geometry rather than screws.

Tony Conrad, a partner at True Ventures, said: "Glasses has created one of the freshest things I've seen in glasses a long time ago. This collection is unique and the co-founding team has incredible experience in design, fashion and sustainability. We also like Yair's focus on designing products that align with the modern consumer's mind. "Wires 2.0 features several different unisex frames ranging from hip to avant-garde. Over the past few years, 3D printing has allowed for some very fashionable eyewear, and the technology has also allowed for modular designs, such as those produced by Wires, which means that the wearer no longer needs to be limited to one style of glasses but can switch them at any time.

Each pair of wire glasses costs $380, while another pair of interchangeable glasses costs $70. It is recommended to read the details of the shelf to appreciate the brand glasses.
