The world's fastest tinting glasses are born - every 0.1 second When it comes to outdoor sports, the weather is beyond our control, so glasses with a single lens color are often difficult to meet. The result is glasses that automatically change the color of the lenses, and they mostly work by showing light or dark colors when the UV intensity changes.
However, a pair of glasses called CTRL XC work in a completely different way. It is said to be the fastest discoloration glasses in the world, taking only a tenth of a second to complete the discoloration process. The technology used in the CTRL XC is called Tint-on-Demand or e-Tint, and the lightning-fast rate of color change is done by liquid crystals.
The CTRL XC has two working modes, manual and automatic. In manual mode, the user can switch the lens color at the touch of a button. Of course, most people will opt for the second mode and then focus on the movement, leaving the lens color to the glasses.
According to the team that developed the CTRL XC, the e-Tint technology is the same technology used in the U.S. military's next-generation eyewear equipment. The e-Tint technology requires electricity, but it only takes 1 hour to charge and up to 70 hours to use. Don't worry too much about the weight, the CTRL XC has a TR90 frame and weighs only 45 g. Although the weight data for the 2.1 mm thick anti-fog lens is unknown, it should not have much effect on the overall weight.
