Ray-Ban held the District1937 event to celebrate the launch of the latest material series of sunglasses Reading guide: Local time in the United States on May 15, 2014, Ray-Ban held a unique celebration in New York District1937 to celebrate the brand's innovative new material series of glasses. Held in New York's unique fashion district, the event created a realistic and unique studio environment for guests to explore the brand's remarkable new materials.
For the first time in the brand's new eyewear collection, many classic models are made of these materials. The event was featured by the legendary rock band Blondie, which is also synonymous with punk rock and New York City.
Ray-Ban hosted the District1937 event with a new Ray-Ban collection featuring a new campaign: "Never Hide What You're Are Made Of of Never Hide" that celebrates the exceptional materials used by the brand.
Five of these materials will be presented for the festivities: leather, denim steel, titanium and velvet. The new eyewear collection is designed for those who want to express themselves, not to be conventional, and to express themselves. Designed for Ray-Ban's past, present and future supporters, it blends traditional style with a modern attitude.
Ray-Ban joins hands with rock icon Ms Mr to celebrate the launch of a new material collection at District1937, which was named District1937 to commemorate the fashion district's legacy since the early 20th century. Not only is it the heart of apparel and textile design and production, but it was also the site where Ray-Ban made eyewear for the U.S. Air Force in 1937 in its early days.
Ray-Ban hosts the District1937 event and attends live events where guests will be able to see the work of many modern artists, all inspired by these unique materials. Mark Evans' stunning leather etchings, Anne Lilly's kinetic steel sculptures, and Denimu's denim creations are just a testament to the creative use of these materials in pop culture.
Guests were also invited to step into the studio and unleash their creativity to create their own District1937 pieces in leather, denim, steel, titanium and velvet. Artists are also on hand to assist guests through the creative process, including Brooklyn-based Kayrock Screenprinters engraving artist, titanium jewelry designer Pat Daugherty, and denim designer Darlene Hatchett.
Highlights of the evening also include the Ray-Ban Remix Lounge, where guests will receive a special bespoke service to create their own pair of custom sunglasses. A total of eight Ray-Ban classics are available, including Wayfarer, Aviator, Clubmaster and Erika, and guests can show off their style with different lens and frame combinations.
