Materialise 3D Printing and HOYA Launch Visual Vision Testing Technology Belgian 3D printing company Materialise has launched a partnership with HOYA Vision Care to launch an innovative visual vision testing technology that could transform the entire vision testing market. HOYA Vision Care is a subsidiary of Japan's HOYA Group, which is a global leader in high-tech medical technology and products.
With the help of additive manufacturing, the product launched in collaboration with Materialise has two pre-existing experiences of what it feels like to wear new glasses, a headset that uses virtual reality technology to immerse consumers in the 3D world through the lenses. The internal structure of the HOYA Vision Simulator is made of laser sintering, and the exterior is made using vacuum casting SLS 3D printing technology.
HOYA EyeGenius is a new vision detection system that uses optometrists to perform up to 60 types of vision tests based on the difference in fixation of the retinal images between the two eyes. Normally, when we test our vision in a regular optician, the reference is a simple eye chart.
The HOYA EyeGenius looks like this, just like a tablet. With the advancement of technology, the consumer experience in all walks of life is getting higher and higher, compared to the common optical store services in China is still relatively primitive, but now driven by 3D printing technology, I believe that in the near future, when we go to dispense glasses, we can also get more perfect services and obtain more matching products.
