Italian eyewear manufacturer Marcolin Group licenses its eyewear business under the Omega and Longines brands

On October 8, Italian eyewear manufacturer Marcolin Group and Swiss watch group Swatch (Swatch) reached a licensing agreement valid until 2022. Marcolin will be responsible for the design, production and distribution of men's and women's sunglasses and optical frames under the latter's Omega and Longines brands. Back in 2016, Omega commissioned the Marcolin Group to create its first collection of sunglasses. With the growing success of its eyewear product line, Omega has expanded its distribution from branded boutiques and e-commerce platforms to independent retailers. Massimo Renon, CEO of the Marcolin Group, commented: "Omega's pioneering spirit, together with the brand's extensive experience in luxury, precision and innovation, further enhances the quality of the Marcolin Group's portfolio of brands". Starting this year, the Marcolin Group will also be responsible for the creation and distribution of the Longines eyewear collection. Renon continued: "We are proud to be a partner and to be able to translate the brand's legacy into a high-quality eyewear collection". Beginning in November, the Omega eyewear collection will be available in select retailers, department stores and brand boutiques around the world. The new Longines eyewear collection will be available in selected Longines watch boutiques in autumn, and the full range will be available through the Marcolin Group's distribution network from November. The Marcolin Group is one of the leading companies in the Italian eyewear industry, representing brands such as: Tom Ford, Bally, Moncler, Sportmax, Ermenegildo Zegna, Victoria's Secret, Roberto Cavalli, Atelier Swarovski, Tod's, Emilio Pucci, Swarovski, Dsquared2, Guess, Diesel, Timberland, Gant, and Harley-Davidson. In 2018, the company sold about 14.6 million pairs of glasses. Recently, there has been a lot of news in the Italian eyewear industry: in October, the French luxury goods company Kering and the Safilo Group renewed the contract for the development and production of the Gucci eyewear collection. In September, it was announced that the eyewear business of LVMH's Dior brand will end its long-term cooperation with Safilo after it expires at the end of next year, and will be handed over to Marcolin and Th茅lios, the eyewear joint venture of LVMH Group. 涓⊿ource: Italian "24 Hours of the Sun" Italian website pambianconews涓↖mage source: Marcolin official website
