Farsighted contact lenses instantly give you super vision

 

Imagine,

 

You can blink your right eye and magnify your vision like a telescope

 

A blink of the left eye can restore normal vision.

 

This is just one possible application of farsighted contact lenses, a new technology developed by the University of California, San Diego and Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland.

 

Scientists say they have succeeded in developing farsighted devices.

 

This special lens consists of two parts, the center circle of the user's line of sight and a multi-layered reflective material that can be folded like a double-lens telescope.

 

In order to be able to switch between normal and magnified vision, the user needs to wear a pair of glasses similar to those used when watching 3D TV.

 

Wearing glass glasses and contact lenses at the same time seems a bit unconventional,

 

But these glass glasses control the outside light.

 

Now they have shared this design with many collaborators,

 

Find ways to make it more comfortable to wear.

 

For example, scientists use a material called polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) in the laboratory to make lenses.

 

Because it's stiff enough to detail its edges.

 

But PMMA is not breathable, so humans cannot wear these glasses for more than a few hours.

 

At present, the partner company is using a breathable polymer material to make a prototype lens.

 

This material is already being used in the production of commercial contact lenses.
