Following the stunning Spring/Summer 2020 runway show, Balenciaga unveiled its upcoming illuminated sunglasses with LEDs at Paris Fashion Week. Designed by Demna Gvasalia, the frames are inspired by the '90s' pretty popular luminous sneakers, and reference the brand's luminous shoe released in early 2019. Image Credit: The brand offers bold rectangular frames with chunky temples that tapered at the ends. A thin LED system is built into one side of the temple to illuminate the Balenciaga logo. By clicking on the sensor's control, the logo can change color and pattern instantly. Image Credit: Courtesy of the brand The logo lights up when the temples of the sunglasses are fully extended, and goes off when the temples are retracted and the sunglasses are placed upside down on a flat surface for more than five seconds or when the sunglasses are clicked three times. Image source: The brand offers LED lights that can be switched between flashing, stationary, or changing from one color to another, and are available in six colors: blue, red, green, purple, yellow, and white. The built-in battery can be easily charged via a USB cable. Because of its clever use of today's technology, it can't help but conjure up images of the colorful world of science fiction.
