Vuzix's Blade Smart Glasses Obtain FCC and EU CE Certification Augmented reality (AR) technology company Vuzix announced that it has met and passed all issuance requirements submitted by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In addition, the company's product also meets the relevant EU CE issuance requirements. Vuzix is a leading provider of AR technologies, products, and smart glasses for the consumer, enterprise market, and its Blade smart glasses are widely recognized in many industries.

With the news of their successful certification, the company's next-generation smart glasses will build on their existing successful products and a solid foundation that success is just around the corner. Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, said, "Mass production of our Blade smart glasses at our West Henrietta facility in New York has begun. With the FCC and EU CE certification process complete, we can begin to ship Vuzix Blade smart glasses to a wide range of developers using Vuzix Blade Edge applications within the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Recently, Vuzix also highlighted their upcoming business developments, including the expectation that a number of factors will impact revenue in 2018 compared to 2017. Of these, the company also has more than 750 existing M300 smart glasses pilot programs, with many others still in rollout.

As for orders, several existing customers have already placed follow-up orders, and the company expects more orders soon. Back in early June, Vuzix also launched their Developer Center, a resource for those looking to build apps with smart glasses.

This resource isn't just designed to allow developers to build AR in the shortest time possible. Once again, the Blade Smart Glasses Developer Center offers sample code and projects, as well as extensive documentation to ensure that people with little experience building AR applications can still learn how to operate them, leaving the door open for future developers and content creators.
