The contact lens contains additives that change color in response to light, and the visible light entering the glasses can be adjusted according to the amount of UV light exposure, and the lenses will automatically darken in strong sunlight and return to normal in normal or low-light conditions.

However, Johnson & Johnson said that the contact lens was not developed to replace sunglasses, after all, it does not cover the entire eye. In addition, Acuvue Oasys With Ttransitions contact lenses have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said Marvina Edelman, director of the Department of Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat at the FDA's Center for Medical Devices and Radiological Health, for the first time that the same technology has been used in contact lenses as auto-dimming glasses.

At the same time, the FDA also evaluated the clinical data of 24 users. They drove during the day and at night with the contact lenses, and the results showed that there was no evidence that wearing them affected driving performance or vision. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said that if the contact lens is used every day, it can be used continuously for two weeks, but it cannot be worn while sleeping, and it cannot be exposed to water.
